The 2025 York Festival’s signature event is TWANG—a bold new live music experience and the official launch of the Western Australian National Guitar Festival, which will roll out in full in 2026.
Curated by WA guitar legends Chris Gibbs and Craig Skelton, the forthcoming festival will celebrate the guitar in all its forms—from country, blues and rock to jazz, classical and experimental.
This year’s TWANG offers an electrifying preview: a night of guitar-driven brilliance under the stars at the scenic York Racecourse on Sunday 28 September. The line-up features Scarlet’s Way, Nathan Gaunt & The Sunset Riders, and Lucky Oceans’ New Darling Rangers—three powerhouse acts known for top-tier musicianship and unforgettable live energy.
With food trucks, a bar, relaxed seating and a dance floor, TWANG delivers a laid-back, festival-style atmosphere and a truly memorable night out.
