The Kambarang Exhibition will showcase art and crafts by a select group of established and emerging Noongar artists and craftspeople from the South-west of Australia. The exhibition theme is based on the Kambarang Season: the season of birth which occurs during October and November or Springtime when there is an abundance of wildflowers. This included a variety of local wildflowers such as the acacias, banksia, kangaroo paws and orchids and grasstrees which flowered if burnt or closely shaved the previous year. Another significant landmark during this time is the Mooja-Australian Christmas Trees whose flowers are a vibrant yellow and orange and signalled the warmer weather is approaching. The reptiles also begin to awaken from hibernation and begin to sun themselves for energy to go and look for food. Please come along and take a look!
