Join contemporary Aboriginal artist Kylie Oldridge (Quiddity Design) for a relaxed, hands-on two-hour workshop exploring weaving, texture and creative connection.
In this guided session, participants will create a unique mixed-media basket, weaving raffia onto a pre-made clay base using simple techniques and a plastic needle. Working intuitively and at your own pace, you’ll be encouraged to enjoy the process as much as the finished piece — no prior experience required.
All materials are provided, including:
Pre-made clay bases (assorted sizes and patterns, pre-drilled)
Natural and coloured raffia
Plastic sewing needles
Your basket is yours to take home on the day. If you don’t quite finish within the session, you’ll be sent home with extra raffia and a needle so you can continue weaving in your own time.
This workshop is designed to be welcoming, accessible and calming — simply bring yourself along and enjoy a creative afternoon of making and connection.
Cost: $35 per person plus booking fees. Concessions for Mob, Seniors & Kids (12 to 16 year olds)
Experience level: Suitable for beginners and all abilities
