Rose Parker (WA) and Delilah Rose (Qld) LIVE Upstairs at the Imperial

A night of story and song and it’s FREE!

Come and join these two storytellers on the couches Upstairs at The Imperial Homestead, York WA as they gift you stories from near and far, love and hate, fear and loathing, Las Vegas and Fremantle, childbirth to touring, no stone is left unturned.

You will laugh, you will cry but mostly you’ll remember how good it is to be alive whilst you eat delicious food in one of the most amazing settings in our country.

But who the heck are they?!

Rose Parker (WA):
Rose Parker is an award-winning and much loved Singer Songwriter guitarist who has woven her magic through the Australian musical landscape for over two decades drawing from folk, alt-country, blues-rock and gospel.

Formally one half of The Velvet Janes, she has released two EP’s, three albums and performed nationally and internationally for over a two decades including a stint as musical director for Fremantle’s Deckchair Theatre.

In 2023 she was awarded a National Songwriting Prize from the Australian Songwriting Association for her latest single Blood on the Water.

Delilah Rose (Qld):
Meanjin based, Boorloo born, Delilah Rose sounds like big hair and velvet flares. Psych sequins and country sass served with a side of comedy.

She’s won Best Group at the WA Country Music Awards and been nominated twice for Best Country Act twice (WAM Awards). She’s played a bunch of WA festivals and even one in Malaysia! Her single Thin Black Line from her debut album Moxie, reached #1 on the AMRAP charts with Triple J’s Zan Rowe describing is as “a rollicking open road rocker, big voice too…”.

“You were by far our fave Nannup act. You should have a stand-up comedy gig. You had us wetting our pants. Thanks for breaking all the rules and blazing the way for other bad ass women to rock out in their own way! You are so unique…a real gem!” Nannup Festival Attendee

And it just so happens they’re in town running a songwriting retreat Fri 23rd May – Mon 26th May. Keen to know more? Email jo@yorkfestival.com.au
