YORK SOCIETY WALKING TOURS: WOMEN OF YORK

Women of York tour

Two extraordinary York buildings, the corner section of the Castle Hotel and the Motor Museum were both built and owned by women – including the Jules Cafe building.  Other women have also run businesses or otherwise played a role in the beginnings of York and its buildings.

This year, The York Festival will include a new walk by the President of The York Society, Rob Garton Smith, which will discuss eight women, their buildings and their role in the history of York.
