Noongar artist Elvis Moody will work with sculptural artist Sanjiva Margio (Noongar Wonderland, Perth Festival) and you to create magical, painted poles depicting the life of the Avon River. Come and yarn with these wonderful artists and learn what swims and lives in the waters of York.
Born in the whealtbelt, Elvis Moody grew up in Toodyay. For most of his adult life, Elvis has enjoyed art. He started painting when he was 25 and carved emu eggs to pass the time away. Lately, Elvis has been painting totem poles, as well as his other art, and has pieces on display in the Bilya Koort Boodja Centre for Nyoongar Culture and Environmental Knowledge located in the Shire of Northam.
