ACT BELONG COMMIT BALLARDONG CULTURAL WALK 3:
WONGBOREL | SLEEPING WOMAN

CULTURAL TOUR

Mt Brown

Learn about the traditional creation and dreaming story of York up on Wongborel (Mt Brown).

From an early age, Dr Marion Kickett captured the stories of her father – stories carefully handed down from generation to generation. In these walks, Marion and her sister Tracey Kickett generously share these stories, their research, and the histories of their ancestors of York.

About Tracey Kickett

Tracey Kickett traditionally comes from York, has a background in Aboriginal community development and has worked in Aboriginal health for 26 years.  In 2001, she completed her Honours thesis ‘The Survival Process and the Resistance of the York Ballardong People’. Tracey moved back to York in 2018 and is currently establishing a new consultancy business with her sister Marion Kickett.  Both wish to share Aboriginal history of York, oral stories, and other historical information that their father shared whilst conducting the Cultural tours of the area.
