Artist and puppeteer Sandy McKendrick and CWA York have teamed up for a creative morning of socks, scones and damper! Sandy and CWA members will assist children to make puppets out of recycled socks, then have fun creating a story together with their personal puppet creations. Children will also be able to participate in making scones and damper for lunch.
An artist, performer and puppeteer living near the coast in Fremantle, Sandy McKendrick has spent most of her artistic life developing and collaborating on largescale community arts projects and performances both city-based and regionally.
The majority of her work focusses on critical environmental and cultural issues worldwide.
She is happiest when submerged in water, playing with children, weaving, sketching, listening to music, dancing, photographing this extraordinary world, pottering in my garden, camping, sharing food, or exploring the Australian land and seascape.
