A stripped-back version of the acclaimed Kohesia Ensemble, Kohesia Quartet combines the sounds of Persian flute (ney), percussion (daf) and lutes (oud and saz) with double bass for a truly unique listening experience. Performing a confluence of deeply textured original music, arrangements of traditional Persian (Iranian) songs and improvisation, Kohesia Quartet are world-class act you don’t want to miss!
Kohesia Ensemble won the Martin Sims Award at FRINGE WORLD Festival in 2020 – the top tier prize that recognizes the “best new Western Australian work that is destined to succeed on the world stage.” Having released two albums, Kohesia Ensemble has been nominated for numerous WAM awards including Best Album, Best Jazz Act, Best Global Act, and Song of The Year in both Jazz and Global categories. Kohesia Ensemble has performed at an array of festivals including National Folk Festival (ACT), Illawarra Folk Festival (NSW), Fairbridge Festival, WAMFest, Perth International Jazz Festival, Nannup Music Festival and Strings Attached Festival.
