Dan Garner Quintet

Dan Garner Quintet

For The York Festival, the Dan Garner Quintet will be performing a set of completely original jazz, inspired by the Wheatbelt. Some of this music will be from his latest release East of the West as well as some more recent compositions which look to continue the inspiration found for the album.

Dan Garner is a guitarist from Wyalkatchem, WA. After completing school, he moved to Perth to further his musical studies. Here he met many great musicians and composers, who all share a passion for all things great and local. Since then, he has performed with local artists such as Gemma Farrell, The Artemis Orchestra and local original RnB group Queency.

As a guitarist he cites Kurt Rosenwinkel, Adam Rogers and John Scofield as major influences. As a composer Garner strives to emulate these artists, as well as taking a slice of inspiration from Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah. dangarner.com.au
